Graduating from my monochromatic background, it was fitting that my very first oil painting should be composed of just two colours (Titanium White and Burnt Umber.). Before taking the plunge of investing in a complete set of oil paints, I opted for a trial run using only titanium white and burnt umber, and the swirls and trenches of this character's lived-in face made for a perfect practice ground.
