The desire to establish my own identity led me to mix my portfolio of portraits with a menagerie of Irish wildlife. After drawing the head of a live deer, I literally got beneath the surface with this paganistic image of the skull. The bone also afforded me a different textural study to the flesh and stone of my other work.
