Energised by the success of my first oil painting, for which I used only two colours (Pilot), I stocked up on a complete set of oil paints and a large flat canvas to continue my newfound chromatic odyssey. The strips of blue make the pink skin of the girl pop in this picture, but they also serve to enhance her mystery by suggesting a tattered veil shielding her face.
